Endasat Leluwai, a Maasai women's group in rural Tanzania, makes traditional Maasai jewellery. The jewellery allows the women to share their rich culture with the world community. They receive 70% of the proceeds directly, often as contributions to the non-cash economy of the village, such as seeds, tools and livestock. The other 30% goes to Aang Serian as a contribution to ongoing projects such as the Community Colleges (link) in their village, Eluwai, and Arusha town. Endasat Leluwai provides a small, sustainable economic project that significantly and positively impacts their community.

Aang Serian also works with women’s groups and youth groups making jewellery in Arusha town.

Colours and patterns may vary from the illustration, as every piece is hand made, but please let us know if you have a specific preference for main colour and secondary colour.

For the Maasai, every colour has a meaning - why not send your friends or loved ones a special message?

white = peace
light blue = water of life
sky blue = God's blessings
dark blue = rain clouds
orange = sunshine
yellow = acacia flowers (for medicine)
red = courage (worn by warriors)
green = grass of open plains
black = cattle (wealth and success)
