The conservation and protection of indigenous cultures and habitats is not only crucial to Tanzanians but to the world.

If civilisation means mastering one's environment without posing any threat to it, then rural Africans are among the most civilised people on the face of the earth.

Instead of sending out personnel to ‘develop’ Africa and ‘educate’ local communities, organisations in the industrialised world might do well to ask themselves what they could learn from these communities about sustainable living and holistic health care.

Many of the images seen here and elsewhere on this site are available as full sized prints with all proceeds going to Aang Serian.

To purchase prints email Bob Webzell ARPS, Aang Serian's UK Co-ordinator at bob@webzell.co.uk

For information about two forthcoming photographic exhibitions raising funds for Aang Serian see the News page.
